Friday trip to VA this morning..Had to check blood sugar as they are beaming in on controlling myh blood sugar now. I complained to them that it was high every day on blood counts and no one seemed concerned but that I was concerned. Tested 4 x daily for 4 days and have a wildly fluctuating group of numbers. About the only one that was consistent was AM before breakfast. So now I get to give myself 5GR of insulin once a day before bed to see if that helps. Along with that I basically have to shun sugar and white starchy stuff (potatoes, spaghetti, rice, and bread.). Need to focus on whole grain bread, rice, noodles, and eat sweet potatoes. Limit portions of carbs and proteins eating ample amounts of the brown grain products and lots of meat, poultry, and fish. Good vegetables, etc. hopefully to bring glucose levels down to a manageable level. This should only be until I am weaned off the Prednisone and then I should be able to stop the insulin. Had my blood draws, a chest x--ray and got my picc line bandage changed. Blood counts dropped a little AGRANS to 3000 (still normal range), WBC 3.9 (4.3 is bottom of normal range) and platelets actually rose a few points to 102 but still short of the normal range. Had a bone marrow biopsy to see what is going on in there. Will get the results in about 10 days. Had lunch at the VA canteen and back to the room to get squared away and catch a snooze which I plan to do right now! Take care and thanks for all your support. I will not die, but live, and will proclaim what the LORD has done. Psalm 118:17
