Friday updates and business, please like this so I know some folks are seeing it - it helps carry my fragile ego through the weekend. No joke people, I count likes like sheep at night to help my ego fall asleep. 1) Susanne posted about our Holiday Social for Team RWB Western PA. We need some help picking the dates please, so we would love your feedback. That post is pinned here in the group. We are looking at the VFW in Dormont, a potluck and Dec 27th or Jan 10th. We have to be flexible with the dates to get more folks there so let us know please. Susanne has some great ideas to make it Eagle family fun. 2) A big Thank You to Crossfit Mayview and Crossfit St Clair for hosting WOD with Warriors this Veterans Day. And again a big Thank You to RAW Training for hosting the Fall Brawl to benefit Team RWB. The Crossfit community is a vital portion of Team RWBs mission and I am so thankful for boxes and locations sharing the Eagle mission. 3) Congratulations to the Indiana First Bank Veterans Day Marathon participants. You helped raise over $20,000 for needy veterans in the Indiana County area! And it was a great day for Team RWB with max participation and fellowship. It was a beautiful thing to see Eagles coming together from all over to honor such a great day. WAY TO GO EAGLES! 4) The Fight For Life 5K for the American Cancer Society is Sat the 15th at 9am in Apollo. This is a nice small race organized by one of our very own Eagles. We hope to see some Eagles there! 5) Please take a moment to take the Outdoor Immersion Survey if you havent already. Jim Skal is really working hard to help Team RWB open the door to Outdoor activities that are accessible and affordable to Eagles and their families. He has created a great thing with his Triple T weekly trail running group and kayak excursions. https://facebook/events/745975865490625/ 6) From our Founder, Mike Erwin, Thank You Coast 2 Coast Participants and even Charity Miles Move for Veterans participants....you all had a part of this and should be so proud: After Team RWB leaders met with Vice-President Biden on Veterans Day, he sent this note out to the entire White House email list. This speaks volumes about the impact Team RWB is having across America, the level of commitment our leaders have---and what a remarkable accomplishment the Old Glory Coast to Coast Relay was. #ItsOurTurn (see attached picture for letter) whitehouse.gov/blog/2014/11/11/email-vice-president-biden-sacred-obligation 7) If you are doing a race or event that you would like to see some Eagles at in 2015, please reach out to me at [email protected] We are really looking for more mini leaders for fitness groups and small splinter coffee socials in various areas. Western PA covers a lot of ground and we need your help to reach more veterans! Sometimes it is as easy as picking a location, date and time and inviting some Eagles out for bagels.
