Friday was a testy day for me. I have been blessed with several interviews even some offers these last couple weeks but been discouraged on what will be the right fit for me. Well Friday I was extra excited about this particular interview. To start, my interview wardrobe was a fail, I ended up wearing my mothers T shirt lol. Then I ran out of gas coming off the ramp of Southfield and 7mile. Like a goof I was completely oblivious to the fact I was on low fuel. I was backing up traffic on southbound M39, not one person was stopping to assist, lol I ran to the closest gas station...The homeless gentlemen rocking that corner was the only person to offer assistance ...I kindly gave my appreciation as I ran across M39 cutting through the turn around...by this time it was well pass 11:30. My chest was pounding from the cold, I cried lol (stimes we just got to LET IT OUT). Then I felt relief I prayed smiled said God gots me brought a gasoline jug, some gas, ran back over to my car which was nice and safe still, and finally after a fight with the gas jug I filled up just on time for MDOT to show up and stop traffic so I can get out the way! Phew. Now I already missed my interview time, HR already called following up asking where I was, and I was already warned how rigorous the interview process could be. So any other time I would have been discouraged and just just turned around went back home but at that moment my heart told me different. I called HR back, explained what happened, she said come I still have some allotted time for you. I went, apologized for the aroma of gasoline I carried with me, interviewed for about 2 hours, did so well I met the leader, and GOT AN OFFER. Moral of the story. GOD IS GOOD. Dont ever allow what could be a potential setback SET YOU BACK! Always follow through, never be afraid to hear NO, to be embarrassed, or be afraid to fail.Because it can stop you from so so much SUCCUSS. Never Give in. NEVER give up.
