Fridays SEVERE WEATHER OUTLOOK has NO organized areas of severe thunderstorms forecast anywhere across the Nation. In the meantime, Isolated thunderstorms could be possible for this afternoon along the California Coastal Sections into Southern Nevada. Other pockets of isolated storms could pop-up across Northeastern Texas and throughout Southern Oklahoma and Southwestern Arkansas for early this evening. FRIDAYS NATIONAL WEATHER SUMMARY BY: Forecaster, Dave Saurer We are noticing some widespread precipitation ongoing across the West Coast to the Rockies associated with that strong low pressure center with the upper level trough and associated cold frontal boundary sweeping inland over the Western US. A strong flow of moisture off the Pacific is feeding into the drought-stricken regions of California with much needed heavy rainfall for this afternoon. The downpours will induce a high risk for flash flooding especially along the upslope side of the terrain. We are also noticing some heavy snowfall along the Sierra Nevada range which will help replenish the water table in the region. For tomorrow, the precipitation is expected to shift into the Intermountain West and the Rockies as the frontal boundary begins to push inland more deeply. For other regions across the County, a closed low pressure center over the Northeast will continue to provide for some cool and unsettled weather pattern from the Central Appalachians to Northern New England into most of today and tomorrow. Light rain showers should continue to develop across North of the frontal boundary stretching from Northern Texas into the Lower MS Valley. Some Isolated thunderstorms are possible in this location.
