A few strong to perhaps marginally severe storms are possible across parts of Southeastern TX into W LA mainly for late in the evening, tonight. Fridays NATIONAL WEATHER FORECAST SUMMARY By: Forecaster, David Saurer We have a growing concern across the Southern Plains and going into the Gulf Coast/Central and Lower MS, Lower OH, and TN Valleys for today and throughout the weekend ahead. A developing storm system along the Western Gulf Coast is expected to eject Northward to the Central MS Valley by tomorrow PM. This system will pull some serious moisture flow from the Gulf Of Mexico and stream it into the Ohio Valley and Lower Great Lakes by tomorrow. A concentrated area of rainfall and freezing rain will begin to develop across portions of the TX Panhandle for today and spread Northward as the system pushes ahead. Snowfall is expected to develop over portions of the Southern Plains into Southern Rockies by this evening. In addition, showers and possible thunderstorms will develop over Central and Western Gulf Coast for this afternoon and this evening extending into the Western OH Valley and Lower MS Valley for tomorrow. A band of rainfall will also be developing across portions of the TN Valley into the Southern Plains for today, precipitation totals could exceed three inches in some areas, locally. As this system pushes Northward, the rainfall will begin to lift into the OH Valley to the Mid-Atlantic states for the beginning half of the weekend ahead. Snowfall will then develop from the Mid MO Valley to the Great Lakes and going into the Northeast as well. Along with the rain and snow line, pockets of rain and freezing rain will develop for tomorrow. It is essential to stay up-to-the latest forecast with NOAA Weather Radio and the National Weather Service for updates and possible issuance of watches and warnings throughout the weekend ahead. In other weather news, a wave of low pressure over the Northern Plains is beginning to dig Southeastward along with the associated frontal boundary to the Mid MS Valley by tomorrow evening. This storm system will begin to develop some light snowfall over parts of the Northern Rockies into the Upper MS Valley by tonight. The area of snowfall will then move into the Upper Great Lakes by Saturday PM. Snow will also linger in the forecast over the Northern Rockies for Saturday AM which will then wane into the Central Rockies by Saturday PM. Another wave of low pressure will form and begin to affect along the frontal boundary over portions of the Northern Intermountain regions by Saturday PM. This new wave will begin to bring more snowfall into the Northern Plains for the latter half of the weekend ahead.
