Friend , if you want to teach whom ever you like , then be instrumental in his birth in the meanings until he obtains them . When he obtains them , then teach him , and he will teach you . I searched very hard among my friends , and did not find any among them who had left the sensory world for the world of meaning except for the rare exception . The rare exception has no general principle . By Allah , our state grieved me deeply . Then I searched to see what was the reason which stopped the meanings from coming to them in spite of the existence of their divestment from means , clothes , loved ones , and companions . I discovered that it was our love for this world and our reliance on it . If we want the meaning to come to us as they have come to others of the people of true sincerity or even more than them , then put aside this world and all our appetites . Then they will come to us with their immense , powerful armies . They will take us to them by force in spite of ourselves . There is no doubt that Allah has made us part of the meanings as He gave the sea waves . Had we known that , nothing would have distracted us from the meanings . Had we known them , we would have found within ourselves seas without any shore . Allah is the authority for what we say !
