Graham, Davidson, Pritchard, Wightman, Cunningham, Cox, Chandler, Amato, Robinson, Towers, Gadsby Subs Morgan, Furesi, Reay-Barry, Ferguson. Match Report...... Lloyds first competitive game back in the league ended up in a well deserved and hard fought victory at a very hot sheepmount this morning. It was a mixture of the old guard and a few new faces for Lloyds with some lads not playing for a few years and others signing from different clubs. As expected the first 10 minutes both teams were a bit apprehensive but the new look Lloyds soon started getting the upper hand with some neat passing and everyone 100% committed. Lloyds took the lead after 20 mins with some good work down the right and after a goalmouth scramble the ball fell to Towers who put the ball in the back of the net. Lloyds then started to take control and some excellent 1 touch passing in the midfield split the Club Victorias defence and sent Towers away and he calmly bagged his second just before Half time. Both teams used their subs often due to the conditions and Fabio Furesi came on for his first game in over 10 years and still showed the flair and skills he had years ago. Club Victoria got back into the game just after the break after a rare mistake at the back but after that they were limited to long range range efforts. Towers had a chance for his hat trick but a smart save from the keeper kept his glancing header out. Lloyds had other chances to make the game safe but it wasn,t until the last 5 mins that a clearance from the keeper fell to Towers whos shot was saved but the rebound fell to Reay barry who made the game safe So all in all an excellent first game by everyone and effort all over the pitch was fantastic and a good platform for the next Friendly.
