Friendly reminder about closed head brain injuries. One year ago today, I fell backwards down the steps and landed on ceramic tile. Having a closed-head brain injury has been the most humiliating and humbling experience of my life. After intense physical and occupational therapy, Im back to 80% of what I was before the fall. However, Im lucky.... -To be alive, and have no permanent brain damage. -To have access to top-notch medical care (and good insurance). -Had I not fallen I would not have been diagnosed with middle ear issues/damage. (Now I know why Im a klutz). Most importantly, I have been blessed to have people in my life who have prayed for me, protected my reputation, and helped through this tough recovery. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
