Friends, Allow me to brief you of our action plan and activities, to wit: As if the life of the city of Tacloban had been snuffed out ruins with people walking aimlessly on the streets with debris of wrecked houses, fallen trees and all systems down. We lost contact or no information with some of our members survived. Victims queue for water and food while children take refuge among saints in churches. Hospitals closed and refused patients due to lack of doctors, nurses and medicines. The city is heavily guarded by military units while lootings are very rampant. UNITED NATIONS VOLUNTEER GROUP PHILIPPINES, SPMUDA, AND WCH ACTION: • SPMUDA announces in the radios and local media outfit appealing to all Filipinos to extend all the necessary support and assistance to the dispatched United Nation Team conducting assessment. • Created Special Task Forces of UNVG-SPMUDA-WCH with base in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao to continue monitoring areas of responsibility until February 14, 2014. • Appeal to the International Community for donations to help the victims of Yolanda in Visayas and watch scam NGO’s and Foundations that might take advantage of the worst situation. • Mobilizes Donation Centers nationwide and coordinate cooperation assistance to legitimate relief organizations. • Created a group in Face-book with title “We Care for Humanity Yolanda-Zoraida” in cooperation of WCH, SPMUDA, United Nations Volunteer Group, Alay Ko Sa Iyo, Inc., Youth Growth Mindanao Organizations and other partners. • Established Monitoring Center at SPMUDA Central Headquarters, Dumaguete City, Philippines under supervision of SPMUDA President and Colonel Henry Sinclair, Commander Mountbatten Award of Burma and receiving Relief Organizations and in cash donations maybe deposited at: a.
