Friends: Herb Weiss, who passed away a few weeks ago, was a much beloved member of Lincoln Square Synagogue. He previously was a member of Congregation Ohab Zedek before moving down to West 70th Street. Herb was well-known for organizing the bikur cholim committee of LSS to visit patients in Roosevelt Hospital, and for his personal hachnasat orchim, inviting visitors to dine on Shabbat and holidays or even sleep over in his modest apartment. Herbs friends have organized a hazkara (remembrance) for him this Thursday, May 29th, 6:45 pm, on the second floor of Lincoln Square Synagogue, 180 Amsterdam Avenue @ 69th Street. Please come to honor Herbs memory, or just to learn more about this mitzvah hero. - Glenn Richter
