Friends, I need some entertainment advice. Ive not seen one minute of Game of Thrones. The question is whether I should go down that rabbit hole. To guide you a little: I loved Lord of the Rings but hated The Hobbit. Also on my eclectic list of likes: Homeland, The Wire, Buffy, BSG, Fringe, Scandal, The X Files, Sherlock. Other than Tolkien, Philip Pullman is the only fantasy author Ive read since I was a teenager. (Unless you also count J.K. Rowling: I got more impressed with Harry Potter as it went along.)
