Friends, I need some help here. This is basically a survey for opinions on a work related situation of mine. When someone buys something and brings it back for exchange or credit, and doesnt use the full amount we issue a credit slip. We also log it into a book as a reminder to us and courtesy if the customer loses their credit slip. A past customer came into my shop recently and said that she and family had credits here that total a large sum from possibly 2- 3 plus years ago that one of the girls that help me here told her about the last time she was in as a reminder. My girls here dont remember the conversation, although it could be forgotten, and we do not have the amounts logged into the book looking back to the earliest logged date for all credits into August 2012. They have lost all credit slips to redeem, and we have no record, and my customer is upset that I will not extend that credit by forgotten, etc., conversation of a dollar amount off the top of her head by this conversation that took place perhaps a year plus ago she said.......What should I do? I dont want to make a customer angry, but also have nothing solid to go on.....Would love some replys from women and men both......
