Friends , I request you to read the full text of this post . It is something happened in Canada while I was using my pages of Facebook , Twitter and Koraputonline.org with inputs from my immediate surrounding in and around Koraput . Surprisingly I got a mail from a student from the University in Canada saying that my pages were appreciated by journalists there and was chosen as a topic of discussion in the class . He wished me to respond some queries . Thankfully I responded in a series of mails and e-conversation . On the basis of my response he presented in the class for other students appreciation and shared this PPT presentation today with a few words : I have attached the visual aid for my presentation, it was mostly speaking but I thought you might want to look at the visual. While expressing my gratitude to him , the faculty and other students of Journalism in Canada taking interest in my way of journalism , here I am placing the first letter that I had received from Mr. Barry . I am sharing this to my friends in the facebook and Twitter to boost their confidence in posting the immediate neighbourhood using the social media and there are people to appreciate . I am so happy because My Koraput has been the talking point overseas and I could become an instrument for this . I am grateful to the Divines Grace . Here is the first letter : Hello there, My name is Niamh Barry and I am a student at Appleby College in Canada. In class we listened to Stephanie Nolen’s podcast about journalism and Citizen Journalism as well. At the end of the podcast she mentioned your name and talked a little bit about you and how you’ve used the media to create awareness about what’s happening around you. For school, we’re doing a project on citizen journalism and I’ve decided to make a presentation about you. I was wondering if you could tell me a bit about what you mainly like to report about and your motivations (why are you doing this work?) or any other information you can provide about yourself would be great!
