Friends, I wanted to let you know that the Brooklyn Vet Center’s weekly writing workshop is resuming this week, at a new time: Thursdays from 6 to 7pm. No experience necessary. Members are free to write about any topic, not necessarily related to their military experience. He is the recipient of fellowships in fiction from the National Endowment for the Arts as well as the New York Foundation for the Arts. The Sleeping Father was an NBC Today Show Book Club selection. He teaches at Columbia University and has also taught at Pratt Institute, Wesleyan University, Bard College, and in many New York City public schools. He has been co-leading a writing workshop for veterans at the Brooklyn Vet Center since April of 2011.
