Friends... I will be joining the Athens Daily Review in November. Thanks for all your support at The Chandler & Brownsboro Statesman. STATESMAN editor Chad Wilson is leaving the newspaper to become editor of the Athens paper. That creates an opening at the Statesman. Bluebonnet Publishing, a family-owned company based in Kilgore, is looking for an independent, energetic do-it-all writer/reporter to run the shop. The ideal candidate will earn a pretty good salary, enjoy health insurance without the hassle of a health insurance exchange, earn paid time off and generally enjoy life at the edge of Lake Palestine. You’ll write news and sports and handle a camera. Ad and page design are handled off-site, but you’ll have software at your disposal if you’ve got something you especially want to handle from time to time, and have the skills to do it. In other words, there’s a lot of independence in this job – but responsibility goes with it. The right person for this job will find much satisfaction in producing a quality newspaper each week.
