Friends, PLEASE SHARE if you find this immigration officers behavior/attitude as unacceptable. A lot of the officers in the Bureau of Immigration Makati have been exhibiting foul attitudes, talking rudely to foreigners who merely wish to extend their stay in the country. We have had a couple of bad encounters with them, one of which may be read here: livinginthephilippines/forum/index.php… Anyway, heres a video I was able to record while we were at the Immigration last week. An immigration officer (IO) was shouting at a foreign national (FN) who took off his pants with shorts (not boxers) underneath when the latter felt hot (its a tropical country). Suddenly an IO came out and started screaming at him immediately while the FN was just quiet and apologizing (not arrogant at all). I only got to capture this clip at the end of the IOs shouting. Even if the FN may be marginally wrong, a public servant should not display such behavior, especially in front of both foreigners and local citizens alike. He even uttered audibly, SIPAIN KITA EH (ILL KICK YOU) as he walked by as if some of the people there couldnt understand him. I hope proper action can be taken by the government for this.
