Friends... Pride is truly evil because it is does not come from God. And we know the word of God says God is Love...right? 1 John 4:8 (NIV) 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. So lets look at how the word of God defines love. In essence... God is defining who He is which is LOVE. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (NIV) 4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love is NOT PROUD (Prideful) which means PRIDE does not come from God. So that lets you know that pride is evil....and what comes after pride? Proverbs 16:18 (KJV) 18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. Friends.. I am witnessing the slow destruction of something and someone and it is breaking my heart. My spirit aches as I am watching this fall in slow motion. To many times we as humans are not humble enough to admit we have made mistakes... that our decision making was flawed. So instead of humbling ourselves in that way... we try to fix the problems caused by our decision making. The more one tries to fix the problems created by ones decisions... the more one finds herself or himself deeper in the hole that pride has dug as it awaits ones collapse into that hole. Humility allows one to say: I made some bad decisions... that brought me to this point that allows me to see the error of my ways as I have alienated people who had my best interest at heart. I villainized the people who tried to help me make the best choices for my life... and as a result I am responsible for where I am at this moment because I made a series of bad choices. When a person is able to admit this to others, that will stop the fall that is taking place and allow God to come in and right the ship. But until a person gets to this place, it is Pride that will lead one to work at fixing the problems that was created by ones decisions instead of humbling oneself and allowing the spirit of God to fix the person whos mind was blinded by the pride which allowed for poor decisions to be made.
