Friends This years Breast Cancer Awareness Ride with the Masters of Mini series Round 5 will be a special one - because it is for Laurie. What Masters of Mini Series Round 5 Breast Cancer Awareness Ride Saturday October 11th Where Milford Riders Club 565 Plains Road, Milford Exit 35 off I-95 When Gates open at 1130am Registration 12-2pm Rider meeting 215pm MASSIVE raffle for Lauries Bucket List Fund 230-9pm Practice 3-4pm Racing 430-10pm We started this special event in 2010, a year after Laurie went through all her stuff with Breast Cancer the first time. We did it because she wanted to say thank you for all who supported her through her ordeal and as a way to give back to those still going through their own fight. Each year we donated the money we raised from the raffle to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Over the years a couple of generous riders even stepped up and offered additional donations to the cause. As many of you already know we recently found out that Lauries cancer is back, and it is not good. It is in her spine, lungs and liver. She plans on fighting this, again, however the diagnosis is terminal this time. In good spirits as always, Laurie has begun her bucket list and has some really cool things on there that she wants to do. I have made an executive decision that this year, we will donate the raffle money to Lauries bucket list fund account. We believe in Komen and all that it stands for, however, this year we want this to go directly to the woman who has had the greatest impact on our race series for the entire 12 years MoM has been in existence. If anyone would still like to donate to Komen, we will happily send it in, but I hope you understand that this year our focus will be on Laurie. Now, we want this event to be as big as it can be - so we are calling on everyone on this email to forward it on social media, send emails, pass on to friends, etc. Whether you and your friends can come race or just spectate - please come Saturday October 11th to the Milford Riders and wear PINK to support Laurie and all those who are battling this terrible disease.
