Friends! You are cordially invited to participate in my first ever St. Pattys Sea-Town FB Flash Mob Scavenger Hunt 2014! If you saw my earlier post about the laying of the green stripe parade, you will feel me when I say, it is going to be GRAND. Heres the deal: Tomorrow, St. Patricks Day, I will be posting three batches of photos of random green things that I found around the town: one first thing in the morning around 6 am, one at lunch break, and one after 5 pm. Your job, my friend, is to do the following: 1) Comment to tell us details about the where/when/who of the photos. Points will be awarded for accuracy, wit, and positive intention. Everyone is invited to participate! 2) If you are my FB-friend, I invite you to take your own pictures of random green things around town, post them to my site, and let us tell you the details of your photos. 3) Forward to anyone else you think might like to participate. The more the merrier! The medaling ceremony will take place after 9 pm tomorrow night. Who decides the medals? The Grand Marshals of the Hunt--that is me and any friend who contributes a photo. The rule is that the person who posted the photo gets to award the medal. So if you post a photo, you must also commit to medaling your contestants sometime after 9 pm. Deal? *If you are awarded a gold medal on one of my photos and know me in real life (not just FB-land) please stop by so that I can medal you in person. I have a supply of gold medals--literal pot of gold at the end of the rainbow--waiting for you. Long live the Winter Olympics! (And you thought they ended today...) About the Hunt: I began this hunt with myself last week as I was walking around town, thinking about how excited I was for St. Patricks Day (you see, my remaining 1% may just be Irish after all!). I started taking random pictures of green things that struck my fancy. (My iPhone storage is totally blown up. Too many pictures of interesting things all around!) It occurred to me that I shouldnt keep a lid on my fun--that perhaps some of you might like to share in it too. So I am literally throwing this at the wall like everything else that I think is fun and interesting, and well just see if anything sticks. My goal is to delight, entertain, and make friends. I believe that no one can succeed all alone in this life. Building community is what its all about. If you agree, I hope youll join me in the hunt. And forward widely. If you dont, thats OK too.
