Friends and Coworkers, I am looking for people to sponsor me in the upcoming Greenville Games crossfit competition, 7/25-26. All of the funds will go to supporting my friend David Spracher, his family and his son Super David, who is currently going thru Chemo therapy for Stage IV kidney cancer. Background on Super David: David Spracher is a fun-loving little boy with captivating enthusiasm! He and his parents, Dave and Erika, and his little brother Camden (1) live in Simpsonville, SC. They are rabid Hokie fans and proud alumni of Virginia Tech. At Davids well-visit on his 4th birthday (4/21/14), a mass was found in his abdomen. David was soon diagnosed with bilateral Wilms Tumor or nephroblastoma - a cancer of the kidneys. His cancer is Stage 4, and has spread to both kidneys and one of his lungs. Bilateral nephroblastoma (meaning both sides) only happens in about 5% of Wilms Tumor patients. There are multiple tumors on Davids left kidney, and a very large one on his right kidney. Little Super David has a long road of treatment ahead of him. After 6-12 weeks of chemo, his right kidney and its tumor will need to be removed. There will be months of chemo and/or radiation afterwards. The functioning ability of his left kidney is still questionable. David may end up needing a transplant, depending on how the other tumors react to his treatments. In addition, this nasty cancer has also spread to one of his lungs.
