Friends for life – Friendship Without an expiry date: God created us social for a reason. God knew that life would be tough without a true friend. Life is never meant to be lived alone. Everyone needs a genuine friend - someone who will be there for you through thick and thin; someone who will stop whatever he/she is doing to come to your rescue. You need someone who will keep their promise to have your back no matter the cost, someone who will stick by your side when all others walk away. You need someone who will let you be you, someone who will love you for who you are, not for what you can do for him or her. You need someone who truly understands where you’re coming from and where you’re going - someone who can be the wind beneath your wings when you soar and a pillow beneath your head when life is sour. You need a friend who will cry with you, laugh with you, suffer with you, and celebrate with you. You need a friend who will spend the night by your bedside when you’re sick, someone who will be your strength when you’re weak and your comfort when in distress. You need a friend who will hold your hand and walk with you through the fierce storms of life and someone who will hold you accountable when you’re wrong. Blessed is he/she who has such a friend. It is easy to be a friend when life is good and everything is going well but a true friend is there in bad times when nothing is well. The worst thing in life is not being without a friend for life. The worst thing is thinking that you have a friend for life only to realize that they were a friend for a season, just when you needed them the most. “One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.” - Proverbs 18:24. Be such a friend. Someone is depending on you.
