Friends, if you care about what is happening in the Middle East, - TopicsExpress

Friends, if you care about what is happening in the Middle East, and want to help put and end to the Genocide perpetrated by ISIS, here is something you can do. Here is a letter I wrote to my congressman, Devin Nunes. Ill copy-paste it here, so that you can edit it for your respective representatives in congress, and if youre outside the United States, your member of Parliement/ Legislative Assembly. Dont stop with one Letter. Keep sending it once a week, and if you get a reply, send one twice a week, edited of course to fit the reply. Keep hammering on. Share this status so that more people can be involved! Of course, if you are not religious, or of a different faith, edit this to suit your needs and views . . . . . . . Dear Congressman ______, My name is _________, and I am one of your constituents in the ______ zip Code area. As I am sure you are aware, there is currently a mass Genocide of Christians and Shiite Muslims in the Middle East by the Extremist Islamic Terror group: ISIS. As a Christian man, it is with great sadness I should see my fellow brothers and sisters of Christ suffering in such a way, and as a Christian I am sure you feel the same way. This Genocide is an affront to humanity, it is an atrocity that offends every part of our dignity and sense of moral principles as human beings, and it is something that must be stopped. Women and children are being beheaded, men are being crucified, and churches are being burnt to the ground. It is our responsibility as human beings to put an end to this. President Obama has began a military policy that has driven back ISIS: through our airstrikes, weve pushed them back from Baghdad, and hopefully, with continued military pressure, we can push them out of Iraq, and hopefully stop them once and for all. However, we should not simply push them out, and leave. Iraq requires our help. It was because of the incompetency of the Iraqi army that ISIS was able to push so far into Iraq and Syria, and it was because of the corruption of the government and failure of its infrastructure that they were able to commit these crimes against humanity. We must be willing to stay with the Iraqi people for the long haul: help these refugees and survivors rebuild their lives, strengthen the Iraqi army so that it may defend its borders bring security to its cities, and help unroot the corruption and ethno-religious divides that plagues Iraqi politics. As a representative within the House of Congress, you can bring this issue to the forefront of our foreign policy, you can help establish a bipartisan coalition of congressmen and senators to help propose and pass legislation that can aid the Iraqi people in their greatest time of need. And, you can help raise awareness to the American public, so that they too can be involved and help bring an end to this atrocity. Time after time, the world cried out, Never Again! when such crimes against humanity occurred: Armenia, The Holocaust, Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia. Lets make sure that this time, we mean those words. Sincerely, ______, a constituent.
