Friends, if you use a phone or Internet, privacy does not really - TopicsExpress

Friends, if you use a phone or Internet, privacy does not really exist. For a while I have been curious about NSA or surveillance activities in #Africa. This short article speaks about one country in Africa but Ive read elsewhere that all calls are already being recorded in some African countries. Since George Orwells classic futuristic book 1984 about a society where Big Brother is watching everyone everywhere the world has been steering in that direction. This is no longer conspiracy theory but reality as proven by Edward Snowden. The technology and capability for this surveillance continues to get more powerful and sophisticated. Do take care what words you use in conversations. I believe its possible to flag conversations based on key words and terms. It is not possible to listen in to everyone all at once but filters can be used to handle the vast amount of data (Big Data) and focus on key or potentially high risk interactions. A similar approach is used to monitoring global financial transactions in real time. I dont mean to be alarmist but I think its reasonable to say Big Brother is Watching.
