Friends, in nearly three (3) years of operation weve NEVER posted like this, but tonight were compelled to comment. Recently, the New Orleans Voodoo, a supporter of our organization, reached out and offered to provide tickets to us to show support, and thank our military members for their service. The staff of the Voodoo spent approx two (2) weeks contacting their friends, supporters and sponsors seeking monetary donations to purchase these tickets. Astoundingly they were able to provide enough tickets, 320, to cover all of our request. The prices of these tickets ranged from $32 to $47 EACH. Sadly as we sit here tonight, we have 96 tickets that were requested that have NOT been claimed. The total value of these tickets is $3,545 dollars. We certainly understand that things happen and plans must be changed, obviously we have NO issue whatsoever with that, but the 96 tickets are for folks that requested tickets and have NOT responded to any post or email, and have NOT claimed them. This is very disheartening, we love what we do and do it to the very best of our abilities, but when something like this occurs its a bit unsettling because the donor (Voodoo) will think twice before donating again. In closing, we are offering these tickets to ANY of our military families and civilian supporters as we dont want these purchased tickets to go to waste.
