Friends, its that time of year again - VOTING SEASON!!! I am on the ballot (yes, again...every two years yall) and sincerely hope that you will allow me the privilege of serving you again in the SC General Assembly and vote for me. That said, I would also ask that you make sure to GO VOTE! Election Day is Tuesday, November 4 but you can also vote absentee in certain circumstances and I encourage you to do take advantage of that option if you can. Here is the absentee voting information for Beaufort County: IN-PERSON ABSENTEE VOTING In-person absentee voting is open at 15 John Galt Road, in Beaufort, and at 61-B Ulmer Road, in Bluffton. Polling hours for both locations will be Monday through Friday, from 9 oclock AM until 4 oclock PM. On Monday, November 3, 2012, in-person absentee voting will be open at both locations from 8 AM until 5 PM. Additional details regarding absentee voting qualifications and how to request an absentee ballot application can be found at bcgov.net/vote or by calling 255-6900. Please note: There is NO Absentee voting on Election Day, November 6. DIRECTIONS: Ulmer Road--- Bluffton -- Take 278 or the Bluffton Parkway to Burnt Church and turn right. Take Burnt Church to Ulmer Road and turn Left. Take Ulmer to the Elections and Registration – Bluffton Location; 61 Ulmer Road. Call 255-6940 or 255-6900 for more information. Beaufort -- The Beaufort County Board of Elections is located at 15 John Galt Rd; Beaufort, SC 29901-1228. Take 170 towards Beaufort, turn left at the light following the Lowe’s and look for the signs for the Beaufort County Board of Elections and Voter Registration. The hours are 9:00 AM to 4 PM – Monday through Friday and the last day to vote is November 6, 2014. Please call 255-6900 if you have questions or for clarification of directions. ABSENTEE VOTING -- BY MAIL You can also request an Absentee Ballot by mail at any time. (If there are large crowds at the absentee locations, you may need to do this). Please telephone the Election Office in Beaufort at 255-6901 (alternative numbers: (843) 255-6913 & (843) 255-6911) and request an Application. The application will be mailed or faxed to you. Fill out the application and mail it back to the address indicated. (Let me emphasize -- FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS!!) You will then receive a ballot in the mail. Fill the ballot out, vote (again FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS!!), and mail it back to the address indicated so that it is received no later than November 6, 2014 at 7:00 PM for the General Election. All applications must be mailed no later than 5 days before the election. If you will be assisting on Election Day such as poll workers, poll watchers or other Get Out The Vote volunteers, you should vote absentee. Thank you for allowing me to serve SC House District 124!
