Friends of Delhis, India burns money in the name of Diwali. It is learned that the cracker producing units have supplied fire works worth Rs. 2200 crore to the entire country for Diwali celebration. Tamilnadus Chennai alone received crackers worth Rs. 90 crore and the entire Tamilnadu Rs. 250 crore. This is only the value of the crackers from the suppliers. the dealers make a profit of 50 percent of this. This means 2200 crore will be worth Rs. 3300 crore. Can we presume that these 3300 crore rupees being burnt on a single Diwali day. In what way we get the pleasure of burning 3300 crore in a single day. Is it not a waste in a poor country like India where people starve to death for not getting a square meal for a day. Should we continue to spend this amount every year? Cant we think of something to use this burning money in some other way to benefit our people and country? Do you justify this money burning in the form of Pattakhas? I know, a great amount of money (say about 75 percent) will go into the pockets of manufacturers and the wholesale and retail sellers. Members, Please comment. Regards, Arjun Yadav
