Friends of Democracy, let me inform you of a restaurant in Pakistan which feeds a select group of poor people food at a discounted rate : Tea=Rs1.00 Soup=Rs5.50 Daal=Rs1.50 Meat=Rs21.00 Roti=Rs1.00 Chicken=Rs24.50 Dosa=Rs4.00 Sebzi Biryani=Rs8.00 Fish=Rs13.00 Amazing isnt it? But before you congratulate the generous souls who run this kitchen, do hear me out: The poor people mentioned above are your blessed parliamentarians, taking home an average salary of PKR 260,000 + bonuses. And the kitchen that serves them is none other than the Official Canteen of the Pakistan National Assembly. Finally, the generous contributors who finance this philanthropic initiative are the taxpayers of Pakistan, including yourselves. But of course its all democratic, b(u)y the people for the people. I rest my case.
