Friends of Earthlands, At some cosmic level we know we are here for a specific purpose. For some reason, many never get a clear picture of what their specific purpose or Souls Purpose is, so they spend a lifetime, metaphorically, lost in a wilderness trying to find their purpose. This whole transfer of Earthlands to new ownership, leadership, and management and an experience I had last evening reminded me of what my specific life purpose continues to be. Last evening, March 11, 2014, Katja and I attended a program honoring the 3rd Anniversary of the Fukushima Nuclear Accident at the Brattleboro Coop called Voices of Fukushima. Not only was I more distressed than ever about the Fukushima Cover-up and its affect on all life on the Planet, but I was reminded by the key note speaker, Chiho Kaneko, a Japanese Anti-Nuclear Activist, who said the only viable solution to the Fukushima Crisis and other Planetary tragedies is to change the entire paradigm (worldview) of how all Global Citizens live on the Planet. For me, the last fifty years has been an attempt to contribute to this paradigm shift. My years of teaching and leading, where I developed High School outdoor education programs; founded the Outdoor Leadership Program and the Human Ecology Curriculum at GCC; wrote numerous books, articles, and gave public lectures; and founded Earthlands with its intentional community and environmental center has been my own personal focus on this paradigm shift. RE: The Transition of Earthlands. As I look at my life now, I am more certain than ever that the passing on of Earthlands, its, vision, land, and programs, is probably my last chance to really contribute to this critical paradigm shift. I have been accused by many that I am afraid to let go of Earthlands... That it was a great vision, but with no foundation. There was a reason I held on. Well, just maybe there will be a different scenario for Earthlands - it can continue to do its Earth-based educational and personal transformational work. My role, and my only role right now, is to search and welcome the next set of leaders and stewards who have the skills, passion, resources, and commitment to guide Earthlands to its next incarnation. I know I have been granted a sacred trust by the land and many guiding spirits to hold Earthlands for its next stewards. My task is nearly done. Every cell in my body and every prayer I recite is focused on a good outcome for Earthlands and its continued contribution to the Planetary paradigm shift.
