Friends please share this to get rid of malpractices followed by Airtel India With reference to request no. CBDWP20131241999, I have few queries pertaining to ethics, esteemed organization Bharti AirTel Ltd. follows with its customers. I am using AirTel for last 13 years and despite of Idea CUG Plan in my college campus, I prefer to use an AirTel. Today, while I was using a gaming application, ₹ 10 (2 times) were deducted with the following messages sent to my inbox: 1. Thanks for downloading Adorable Sherlyn-W-2 from Airtel. You have been charged Rs 10.0. 2. Thanks for downloading Devotional Special-W-2 from Airtel. You have been charged Rs 10.0. ₹ 10 were deducted even when I have not clicked on the advertisements showing on the top of the app screen. I really cannot understand the payment window AirTel follows to deduct the amount. How can you deduct amount without any confirmation/payment procedure? I immediately called AirTel Customer Care (where you charge 50 paise for 3 minutes to solve problem created by your company). Unfortunately, an ill-mannered operator named Ajay picked the call and tried to prove that I did shopping as I am culprit of the malpractices his organization has followed. He tried to do that 6-7 times in all possible ways (it seems like he was trained to deal with such situations in advance) and also told me that Hungama has deducted the amount. This means that any Tom, Dick and HArry can deduct my AirTel balance and this kind of security has been provided by AirTel? When I asked him to explain the steps involved in shopping and how Hungama can deduct balance from my AirTel account through an application when I did not accept/confirm any kind of payment, he suddenly said that the waiver request had been accepted. Now, again, I got surprised, how suddenly the impossible thing happened? Just because I asked him the shopping steps which he could not fight with? Being a loyal AirTel customer for last 13 years, I request senior representatives of AirTel to answer- how can amount be deducted from my AirTel balance by these illicit ways? Is my balance is not safe with AirTel? Why, just to increase their revenue, AirTel follows such practices? In this situation, I could manage to discuss the issue in detail but many innocent people would not be able to do that and end up in losing their balance permanently, many times. I have full rights to ask AirTel to stop such loots. I can expect organizations like AirTel not to follow malpractices to fool its customers because as you are very well aware that the telecom sector is facing fierce competition and players like Vodafone, Idea, Reliance, Aircel etc are very much ready to serve. They spent huge money to endorse mobile number portability feature. Good luck to you!
