Friends, this is a story I wasnt sure Id get to tell. It is a story of how love, continual medical care and a will to live can overcome even the worst of all horrors. This is Whiskers, our Miracle-- Belton House of Horror Survivor! The first pic is Whiskers several days after being confiscated from the house. The 2nd is one of him at his first visit to our local vet, after several prior vet visits in Greenville. The 3rd and 4th pics are of Whiskers now. By all accounts, Ill never forget my stomach drop when we learned how bad his bloodwork was and that his organs and lymph nodes were enlarged. He was very ill. I tried to prepare myself and his foster mom for the worst, afraid he was possibly just too far gone. We vowed to give him every treatment possible, he was a fighter with a strong will to live with the most trusting and loving nature ever. His foster mom was diligent with his care, her dedication to driving over 200 miles for each and every vet visit remarkable. He grew stronger, he gained weight, his eyes which looked as if hed had cataracts before, began to shine clearly, his wheezing subsided, his breathing better and better, viral and uri infections clearing... the spark of life and will that this boy had seemed to catapult him to get better. When his last set of Labs were taken, we were all pleasantly surprised, even the Dr... A complete turn around, completely normal values, normal organs, normal lymph nodes and hed doubled in size. Wed gotten the MIRACLE wed hoped for! He was cleared to undergo his neuter surgery and did just perfectly. Whiskers will be making one last road trip to Charlotte this week as hes ready to find the family he is so so deserving of. This little fighter knows only love and cuddles. He is the sweetest little boy! To every one of you who contributed to Whiskers vet bills, and kept him in your prayers, we cannot thank you enough. Well never know how Whiskers ended up with the evil Julianne Westberry at the Belton SC home where so so many suffered long and painful deaths, and so many others are unaccounted for. We will never ever understand this intentional level of cruelty all in the name of greed, and even worse in the name of rescue. Her case is pending. With the fraud that was involved, we pray that further , more serious charges are forthcoming. What we are very clear about is that today is a day to focus on Whiskers, our little Miracle. There has to be some light around all of that darkness. He will never know anything but love and care again with the very best family, that you can be sure of. God bless Whiskers amazing foster mom, she has loved and cared for this boy through so much. We are waiting for you with open arms full of love to see you through your final journey with us... the one where you find your forever family! ♥ ♥ Whiskers our Miracle ♥♥
