Friends, we are already *in* the zombie apocalypse, and its about us lower classes fighting back. Thats how they see us: dirty, sick, and mysteriously not yet dead. Zombies, like vampires, are just a metaphor for a particular class of people, and are in effect mirror images of one another: vampires are plutocrats, zombies are lumpen proletariat. Yet the undead-ness of zombies is human resilience, whereas the undead-ness of vampires is to do with the latent power of capital and privilege. But zombie movies are right about one thing: you can put a lot of bullets in me, or one of my friends, and we will keep moving, coming for your wealth and privilege, and one day, one day soon, we will win, and you will be like us. Scream if you like.
