Friends, what are we to do in the face of frustration? Do we allow - TopicsExpress

Friends, what are we to do in the face of frustration? Do we allow it to fester and manifest itself in ways that are destructive to ourselves and the fellowships that are significant to us? Frustration is a human quality that we all have and will experience and can be used as a launching point to our greatness. Frustration takes us to a place that comfort and status quo cannot. It does not have to be sought after, for it is a reactionary station--often a consequence--that can yield uncomfortable and unrequited emotional distress. It is at this point that we have two choices that can be either the stepping stone to our continuous growth or the slippery slope to our momentous decay and deprivation. Do we decide to meet our frustration head-on and trust God who promises that if we be still and know that He IS God, He will be our help and our strength, a very present help in the time of trouble, or do we practice avoidance and just hope that eventually the problem will go away and all the while, allowing the frustration to grow beyond the measures of our capability to cope and handle? Friends, trusting God in this station of life--and all stations of life--gives us options untold when arresting our moments of frustration. The tools to manage and navigate that choice are endless and certain. While the avoidance of dealing with our frustrations gives us many choices but conversely, our options are few, far between, and ambiguous, which only grows our frustration into an ever-burgeoning albatross of other frustrations that are added and heaped upon, while we subsequently begin to view this as an indictment of our very existence as we engage in unnecessary scapegoating of self and others. Friends, as the Levite said to King Jehoshaphat, "Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord..." His salvation is sure, His strength is infinite, His glory is boundless, His mercy is everlasting...Let our frustration become our launching point to greatness in Him as a testament to His glory rather than the beginning of our own demure and sparsely limited expectation of our present circumstances...
