Friends with awful taste in movies are trying to drag me to The Giver. The trailer doesnt look as bad as I expected, but.... 1) Every major critic -- as well as most normal people on Metacritic -- gave it pretty bad reviews. (Some people ignore reviews, and for some movies you have to, but in most cases I agree with the critics.) 2) Nobody even remotely cute in it. 3) YA Adaptations are getting as tired as comic book movies. 4) The fact that they want to see it in and of itself means theres a 555% chance itll suck. 5) I cant even come up with a *#5*?! Oh wait, yes I can! As of now, the Arclight reservation screen shows David & Jeff, and 2 other (solo) people in the theater, on Saturday night?! I guess I could bring my laptop and sit in the back and troll Facebook for comments, but I can do that w/o paying $15... Katie Holmes looks ABSOLUTELY DREADFUL in it, and Im guessing Taylor Swift sucks too (in a minor role) -- those are the only 2 positives I can come up with!
