From Adam we inherited a body of flesh which can be tempted. We - TopicsExpress

From Adam we inherited a body of flesh which can be tempted. We did not inherit a “sinful nature” from Adam; from Adam we inherited a body of flesh. The reason the young Jewish virgin named Mary was miraculously caused to conceive and give birth to Jesus was so that Jesus could live in a body of flesh like ours, that could be tempted and killed for our sins. God in spirit cannot be tempted to sin but God in flesh could be tempted to sin. Humans have flesh that can be tempted. Humans do not have anything that Jesus did not have that makes it harder for them to resist temptation than it was for Jesus because Jesus was tempted in all things as we are. If we have a “sinful nature” that Jesus did not have then Jesus was not tempted in all things like as we are but the Holy Bible says, “Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God let us hold fast our profession. 15 For we have not a high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.” (Hebrews 4:14-15) Jesus did not have a “sinful nature” and neither do we. We have a body of flesh which may be tempted and so did Jesus. The Greek word “sarx” means “flesh” it does not mean “sinful nature”. Bibles that translate the Greek word “sarx” as “sinful nature” in places such as Romans 7:25 and Romans 8:3,4,5 are incorrect and are supporting false doctrines and obscuring the truth of what the Holy Bible actually says. Attempting to use an incorrect translation of the text of the Holy Bible for Bible study is comparable to attempting to learn music by using badly out of tune musical instruments or pitch pipes. Inaccurate translations do not teach the truth.
