From Alphaxard Nganga This is the NEXT BIG THING in Kenya after M-PESA ….. This young man needs support (Safaricom and the Government should see this) PESAPASS APP THE NEXT BIG THING. This is the digital MPESA/MONEYGRAM/ PAYPAL all in one. This is a phone application for smart phones running on various operating systems. It is intended to offer mobile money transfer, mobile banking and loan services. It solely relies on internet services to effect the transactions. The application offers instant services across the world. It uses US dollar as the standard currency while transacting across the borders. One may use the local currency while transacting within borders. There will be agents worldwide to offer deposit, withdrawal and registration & upload of profile pictures services to customers. The company will also have cyber agents to serve the population without smartphones. At a cyber agent, one will be able to send & withdraw money, pay bill, buy airtime and access other account services. To use the services you only need: (i) The application itself (downloadable from a given site) (ii) Smart phone (iii) Internet connection (iv) Registered SIM Card from any network provider INTEGRATION A user friendly client download for smart phones will be available on a given website to download. The user interface of this application once installed will be number sensitive, in that only a specific registered SIM Card can access the account. Once the SIM Card is changed the access into that account is blocked. If the new SIM Card is registered for the service, it will automatically change the account. So it is possible for an individual to have several accounts registered under different phone numbers operating on one application. The main identification is the registered phone number. The application will be partially integrated with government database. Once you feed your mobile number during the installation process it is able to retrieve your name and you will have a chance to authenticate your identity with your national ID/passport number. (Note: The pilot is not integrated with National Data Base) INSTALLATION Download the android app (the pilot is running on android phones ONLY but the real app should run on all mobile OS). Before installations make sure you change your phone settings to allow installation of apps from unknown sources. REGISTRATION Use your real phone number i.e. the one used to download the app. You can only register once. Once you register use your phone number and chosen pin to login. MONEY TRANSFER You can only send money to a registered user i.e. the one with an installed app. To send money includes the country code of the recipient before his/her phone number. The transaction charge is 1% of the amount being transferred. To withdraw money from an Agent, use 10001 as the agent number. The transaction charge is 1% of the amount being withdrawn. PAYBILL This feature can be used to pay for: KPLC, DSTV, Shipping, Government Services, e.t.c Once you enter a business number, a special menu of that business will be displayed. BANK The account can be linked with your real bank account where you can deposit/withdraw from your account. Overdraft -one can take unsecured loan (m-shwari) Loan -one can also apply for a secured loan, the security being the guarantors BUY AIRTIME One can buy airtime for his number or sambaza to another number. MY ACCOUNT Offers such services as: Balance Statement >mini statement (the last 5 transactions) >full statement (select date from - to) Currency Country Language Change Pin Secret Question Customer care SPECIAL FEATURES The app has its own inbox. The settings icon > select how you login (Open, PIN, Username & PIN, Thumb print or Facial Recognition). If your account is open you may opt to secure your inbox with a pin. You can view your profile picture which must be uploaded by an agent to make sure it meets the required standards. Anytime you make a transaction you will receive a notification which appears on top bar of your screen (just like whatsapp) I have already patented the work. I m currently negotiating with UoN on modalities of partnership and have personally met Dr. Evans Kidero and he pledged to support me financially. Since the government announced the digital payment of gov services, there are many companies such as Equity Bank, Nakumatt and Tangaza, which have expressed interest in investing in mobile money transfer so I believe these companies and public at large will highly welcome the invention.
