From Angie Draper Everyone is asking about these anti Jill signs that showed up 24 hours ago. Anyone who has been following this school board and this election should know by now who is behind these signs. Here are a few facts on Jill. If you take a moment to review the districts archived livestream you will see exactly what was said and what took place. 1. What Jill wanted was a raise for all employees, including teachers. This was Mr. Colvins nose to nose vote for teachers only. She believes ALL staff should receive raises. 2. Not only does the GEA and AEA (NOT A UNTION BUT A ASSOCIATION as we live in a right to work state) support Jill, the vast majority of her contributions on this campaign have come from teachers and teacher families. It is the teachers who have paid for those elect Jill signs that you see. In many cases I believe these teachers have given their widows mite to support this campaign. We have over 200 donors, has there ever been this many people financially support a school board campaign? 3. Jill campaigned hard as a private citizen for the last 2 overrides so that teachers and staff could have raises. 4. Jill is the one who has visited the schools, listened to the teachers and advocated for their needs. I know I have seen her on many campuses over the last two years. 5. Jill is the one who stood up to Mr. Colvin in protesting the unethical removing of teachers names from the consent agenda. I have complete faith that she will do it again. 6. Jill did not participate in the list, and has spoken against it. As did LIly, how about the other 3? They were very quiet when the list was brought up. 7. At the convocation at the beginning of the school year, it was Jill and Lily who received a standing ovation and loud applause from the teachers.
