My baby turned six years old and it should be a day of celebration and I tried my best to make it happy for her. However, on her birthday came to news I was fearful of. The neurologist called. Her tick panel came back clear, no Lyme disease or meningitis causing her stumbling, decreased activity and lack of appetite, as well as her DNA based test for degenerative myelopathy was normal. They had did an x-ray of her spine and the radiologist which showed part of her lungs. They found white spots on her nodules in her lungs similar to cancer. Their initial worries of a spinal tumor is probably correct and it has most likely already spread to her lungs. Zara goes Wednesday for a chest x-ray to see just how much her lungs are affected as well as an MRI to confirm the spinal tumor. Should it be a soft tissue tumor, only 50% are operable. If it does not involve the nerves or actual spine cord and they can remove it, they will immediately operate while she is sedated from the MRI. She will require radiation therapy either way. Trying my hardest to stay calm around her so she doesnt pick up too much on my emotions but sometimes it is extremely hard. Trying to give her the best birthday weekend and do things like nothing is wrong.
