The Cornhuskers mark the fifth top-15 opponent in six dual matches for RU since Big Ten action began on Jan. 2. It marks the second appearance this season for the Scarlet Knights on national television, as their Big Ten debut versus No. 1 Iowa on Jan. 2 also aired live on the network. Knight Notes The Scarlet Knights (10-4, 1-4 Big Ten) enter Friday’s matchup ranked No. 21 in the NWCA/USA Today Division I Team Coaches Poll - the team’s highest mark this season. Rutgers is also ranked in the Intermat Dual Rankings at No. 24, and in the Intermat Tournament Rankings at No. 25. Last time out at Maryland on Jan. 18, the Scarlet Knights won seven of 10 bouts en route to a 24-11 victory at the Xfinity Center - the program’s first Big Ten dual win in history. 184-pounder Anthony Pafumi (Westfield, N.J.) put the finishing touches on the win with an 11-2 major decision with two bouts remaining. The win over the Terrapins made it nine consecutive seasons for the program with double-digit dual victories. No. 20/17/NR 133-pounder Scott DelVecchio (South Plainfield, N.J.) entered the Intermat and FloWrestling rankings for the first time in his career this week following a 10-4 upset of then-No. 14 (Intermat) Geoffrey Alexander of Maryland on Jan. 18.
