From Beppe Grillos blog (english version ) : If there’s a constant factor in the history of Italy it’s seen in the sellers of pots and pans, of the clever talkers selling so much a kilo, and those who tell the biggest fibs for a handful of votes. The amazing thing is that the Italians always fall for it. The experience provides no inoculation. The people should have a therapy, a session of psychoanalysis rather than the knowledge of history, to understand the behaviour of the citizens of this country. The current seller of pots and pans, stage name Renzie, is so embarrassing that children are laughing when they see the TV News, they no longer ask their parents to switch channels so that they can see the cartoons. Renzie is better than Abbott and Costello, Franco Franchi and Ciccio Ingrassia, or Laurel and Hardy. In the future they’ll have him broadcasting on the children’s channel Boing, together with Peppa Pig and the Smurfs, in the role of Fibber Smurf. Today’s headline in De Benedetti’s daily paper, La Repubblica, is Renzi: le pensioni non si toccano“ {Renzi: pensions won’t change}. It’s a non-news item, however, it still instils a sense of security. Non-actions are the new policy of the Government. I won’t do this. I won’t do that. The list of things that will not be done is to be discussed in the meeting of the Council of Ministers together with things that should be done, but still won’t be done. It’s sick marketing that causes nausea. Who put that man there? “When he’s going to stop taking us for a ride? these are the questions that people keep asking. Renzie said that if there isn’t the money to hand out an extra 80 euro a month starting in June then it’ll be OK to consider him a fool. It’s him that’s saying it ..... He’s sorting out public finances using tweets and selling stuff on ebay, he’s promised to auction off 150 official blue cars What can be said? It’s even impossible to comment. Renzie can defeat all the fibbers. He’s got the numbers on his side. From Berlusconi with the promise to get rid of the ICI housing tax and the “social card” idea, to Achille Lauro who got elected mayor of Naples by giving a shoe to potential voters with the promise of the other one if he got elected. Renzie’s 80 euro, without any money available to pay it, without the support of a legal decree, is worse than the shoes offered by Achille Lauro. At least he gave people one shoe before the election. The 80 euro (if it exists) will not be in pay packets until after the European elections. Going from one vote gets two shoes, to one vote gets 80 euro (perhaps ...).
