Can you help Ukraine get through this winter? Please find attached an invitation from the Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Ukraine, John Whittingdale MP, to the launch of the Global Friends of Ukraine from 4.00pm to 6.00pm in the Churchill Dining Room, House of Commons on Thursday, 23rd October. The aims of the Global Friends of Ukraine are: 1) To channel the help and support of everyone who is a friend of Ukraine to the country to deal with the immediate challenge of surviving the winter. 2) To help rebuild, reform and regenerate Ukraine in the months and years to come by attracting foreign expertise, knowledge and skills. 3) To connect Ukrainian organisations working in humanitarian relief, with internally displaced people, in the reform movement and in the rehabilitation of fighters and civilians traumatised by conflict. GFU will be a UK-registered organisation (currently awaiting Charity Status approval) bringing together people from all walks of life who share a common concern for the current situation in Ukraine and want to provide technical and financial assistance to help build a peaceful and prosperous Ukraine. At the launch, there will be an opportunity to meet and talk to the founder, trustees, distinguished advisers, parliamentary supporters and many fellow Friends of Ukraine; as well as to hear how you can give your support. I very much hope that you will be able to attend and would be grateful if you could RSVP by emailing [email protected] by 17th October at the latest.
