From Brittany’s latest report: Brittany has had a very eventful past week and Rene and I are proud of how well she handled all the commotion. We have been training Brittany in many different areas with new distractions around her. It is much easier these days to regain her focus because she has gained much more confidence in herself. Also, she is not spooked by every unfamiliar noise. We have been also having other trainers run her thru the basic commands as well as walk her to ensure she will perform and behave for others. As you have already seen, we did an adoption video this past week. Myself, I am very proud of how Brittany performed because a few short weeks ago this ‘lil girl was afraid of her own shadow. Yet Brittany went somewhere she had never been and did that well. We didn’t teach her a lot of tricks. We felt it was more important to work on her issues and socialization skills, rather than tricks. Brittany is now a balanced dog who goes into the pen and plays with all the other dogs and we see how much happier she is now. I also moved my cell around to make room to receive the training crate. I placed Brittany’s bed inside and covered the back 2/3rds of it to block out some of the overhead lighting. That is where Brittany has been lodging for the entire last week and she loves it! She not only relaxes inside during the day, but she also spends her nights in there as well. I never locked her in there, there was no need to. If she is thirsty she will come out, get a drink, and return to her crate. We hope that after seeing the video, someone adopts Brittany. She is a loveable, mild-mannered little girl. She plays well with other dogs, is potty and crate trained, sleeps through the entire night, loves to meet people, and needs a good home!!
