From: Brown, Gaye Sent: 3/5/2014 8:30 AM To: blynnekelly@msn Subject: Road Contractor Hi Lynne, I was wondering if I could get the phone number for Mark, the contractor that has been working on the road. We have an idea to do a temporary by-pass in order to keep the most customers possible in power that are served from the line in Mt. Index River Tracts. However we don’t want to get in his way if he is going to be in there working today. Thanks for your help. Gaye Brown Distribution Services Manager Monroe Office (360) 794-3901 office (425) 239-1052 cell (425) 267-6277 fax Mark, Seven gentlemen have given our word well back you up on the 3/4-time dump truck deal if you end up working alone on the mud slide with your dump truck and trackhoe. Ill print your note and have it signed Saturday. Mark, Earl, Cameron, Tom, Gary, Zan, Jim David Faigin deserves an award or metal at this point. I was talking with him all day. LK Sent from my Windows Phone Gary, thank you for the confidence in my note taking. Saturdays meeting was so long and people were moving, etc. That would go no where and was confusing. I think this might be what you are talking about: Lynne made a motion to get a bid from 5 contractors Patty 2nd Earl said to defer this to committee and have them meet one week from today. He then postponed to next meeting. It is unfortunate that the three contractors showed up and Mark Hopkins was there also. I dont know anything about that as I didnt ask any contractors to come out that I have talked to. I was asked for the last two meetings to contact contractors which I did but never made arrangements for them to come out. I have had call backs from some of them but told them that I had turned their info over to the decision makers. Are you telling us that you dont recall the one and only motion that you made at the board meeting on Saturday to get bids from different contractors. As I recall you had trouble getting a second, finally Patty seconded it so that we could open discussion on it. I remember Earl asking who was going to write the scope of work. I dont remember the vote count, but do remember it failed. Maybe Patty (she always takes excellent notes) or some other board member can fill in the missing pieces. I also have faith that Earl can get to the bottom of this. If we had held out for May last time this came up we wouldnt have Cameron and Earl with us now. Maybe our luck will continue and we can get two more excellent board members. They can stand for election in May like everyone else but if six of you tell me you want to take time to deal with it on our April agenda then we need to announce our intention 10 days in advance per the terms of Bylaw 4.9 4.9 Board of Directors Vacancies: Any vacancy on the Board of Directors caused by death, resignation, inability to act, or other reason, including failure to maintain Property Owner in good standing status, may be filled by election by a majority of the Board for the unexpired term of such Director. Notice of the election to fill such vacancy shall be given to all members of the Board of Directors not less than ten days prior to the meeting at which said vacancy is to be filled. Reminder: We will not be discussing this or anything else other than mud slide at our special meeting this Saturday, March 8th from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. No word from Kim Moore yet but Jeff Smith is keeping in touch with him too. Not sure well have news before Saturdays meeting but heres what Kim said he will do: 1. Ask his accounting department to calculate how much it would cost for contractors to carry their equipment and walk in. 2. Ask his legal department if he would be allowed to spend that amount of money on road instead. So no promise if or how much, but dont expect PUD to be able to foot the whole bill, maybe help if were lucky. Stay tuned ... First draft came out to $149.999.92 so pretty close to what we billed last year.
