From CMU, In the deep South during the Depression, life was difficult for everyone. Add three innocent children and the rancid roots of racism; and ugly reality destroys fantasy. At least partly so. The result is Harper Lee’s poignant Pulitzer-winning novel To Kill a Mockingbird. On Wednesday, Dec. 3, at 7:30 p.m. the renowned National Players will perform Christopher Sergel’s play adaptation of To Kill a Mockingbird in the Little Theatre on the campus of Central Methodist University in Fayette. The Cultural Affairs Committee of CMU and the Student Government Association are sponsoring this production, which is free and open to the public. Seating will be first come, first served. The National Players are a branch of the Olney Theatre Center in Maryland. This year marks their 66th tour. The director of this performance is Shirley Serotsky, and the National Players Artistic Director is Jason King Jones.
