From CTS Coach and co-author of The Time-Crunched Cyclist, Jim Rutberg: Let me put this as simply as I can: Riding the same weekly training hours that you are already habituated to (because thats all the time you have) at lower intensities than your fitness can already support wont produce a stronger base of aerobic fitness.
