From Cleos Mom: I have been unsuccessful at reaching the woman who is sharing my video of my four-year-old daughter. The video was originally entitled Cleo on Equality, and I shared it on my YouTube channel and in an article for The Huffington Post. The version of the video that the woman is sharing, which has gone viral with over 80,000 shares in the past week, has been stripped of all my identifying info and does not link back to my work, my websites, or any of my social media sites. I have filed a claim of Intellectual Property Violation with Facebook. I have NO problem with someone sharing an amazing video from my page of my daughter talking about equality. I DO have a problem with someone sharing a version that has been stripped of its title, its links, and its information, and passing it off as her own. If this situation is not resolved to my satisfaction, I have decided not to share any more videos of my girls through my author sites or blogging sites and will restrict views to my family and friends. Thank you for all the love you have shown my babies. Here is a link to the original video from my channel, as it should have been shared. And let this be a reminder to all of us about the ethics of sharing content you didnt create without including the crediting information. Its just not cool.
