From Cr Linda Scott of City of Sydney Council: Success - four new childcare centres coming soon This coming Monday Council is set to approve plans for four new childcare centres in our City, offered as part of private developments: Meltmore Avenue, Rosebery; Dunning Avenue, Rosebery; Johnstons Creek Parklands in Glebe; and George Street in the CBD. While each of these projects will have differing time frames for completion, I welcome the approval of these plans which come after many hundreds of residents have signed Labor petitions calling for Council action on childcare. New childcare centres are a win for residents and for businesses in our City, allowing parents and skilled workers to return to work should they choose to. After years of ignoring the need for new childcare centres in the inner-city, I am pleased that action is being taken on the childcare crisis and look forward to more childcare places becoming available as these centres are built.
