From my desk this Friday: I take my thought today from Matt. 5: 9...Our blessed Jesus is teaching hear; Blessed are the ones who seek peace for they are the peace-makers; and they shall be called the children of God. Paul was such a man; but so was Abraham Lincoln. He was the president during the bloodiest war; called the civil war. He, in the presidency; endured snobbishness; overlooked insults; in other words he sought to live in peace. He succeeded in making his humility so visible that he was able to persuade, and unite the cabinet to do his will. Such Christians show forth the Love of God and lead others in the walk they should walk before the Lord. And you shall have the privilege of being called CHILDREN OF GOD. Christian love with peace become a way of life when quickened by the Spirit. Now being a man of peace is an active life; and it by no means teaches us that we will never have struggles, or battles of our faith. Yes; Christian peace and love is always forward and upward; In all situations he seeks to walk in love; and always turning the other cheek; and preferring your brother above yourself. And wiser than you. This Christian has a teachable spirit and can be led by a child. Now this peace does not sneak up on you in the dark; and spring on you; and immediately you walk in peace. This peace must be sought; and pursued; by God’s Grace; it slowly becomes your way of life. You do not sum it up and it works; it is not magic; it just becomes a part of your Christian walk. It just comes forth when needed in any situation. An argument or disagreement springs from something wrong in your heart. It tells who is sitting on the throne; self; or Jesus. The answer to a quarrel is to seek to draw from the life of Christ; His peace, His love, His grace; and suddenly you shall have peace; and an understanding heart. It is not winning the disagreement; but are we willing to suffer the wrong; even when we know we are right; The secret of these situations is LOVE. We will suffer the wrong. Why? For the sake of the Lord; and not grieving the Holy Spirit. If you practice this walk. YOU WILL BE CALLED THE SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF GOD. Amen and love from Clarence
