From Crohns and Colitis Awareness page. This is to friends, family, co-workers etc of someone that has Crohns disease or ulcerative colitis or a chronic illness and are unable to work. You need to remember this person is not only dealing with the physical illness but also dealing with the emotional side of this illness. On the emotional side, we have to grieve for the life we lost due to this illness, we have anger and depression and all of us deal with this in different ways and at different rates. But please, please don’t say to someone you are so lucky that you get to stay home. NO, we are not lucky, we are not happy that we GET to stay home. We are not at home enjoying our self. Don’t say, well you don’t look sick. You have no idea what it takes just to put one foot in front of the other, every single day! So please just be kind, because you never know what that person is going through! From Crohns and Colitis Awareness supporter Kelly.
