From Dan: Im looking at The Economist magazines cover headline What Would America Fight For?. I like The Economist but they are asking the wrong question. The question is: What would Americas allies fight for? The US has demonstrated that it can and will fight, even sometimes for the wrong things, with few exceptions. This is not true of allies. So The Economist asks What Would America Fight For? but what haunts America is: When will our allies stop expecting us to do all, if not most of the fighting and financing of almost everybodys military? Surprising thing to me is that The Economist puts all of the burden, and I mean all of the burden for defending the West and freedom, on America.
