I walked to Rotherwood in the forenoon & looked at the glass for the windows in the church. Work very elaborate but too small & dark for my taste, and out of keeping with the chancel windows. I drove Aunt Kitty into Sutton and brought Agnes from Ainslie Hill. All the other patients there better. Georgie went on a few days’ visit to Riverside. TUESDAY 9 Beautiful day. Wind variable. Ther. 8 below to 8 above zero. I drove Agnes into Sutton in the forenoon, and ordered a double cutter from Wm. Sheppard. Paid Townley $41.91 & Tremaine $11.68 per order on J.R. Bourchier. I walked to Rotherwood in the afternoon and afterwards nearly as Lee farm where I met Aunt Kitty & Agnes returning from their visit to Fanny. Received letter from Mr. Cowie with first of exchange of bill previously rec’d. WEDNESDAY 10 Fine day.Wind South’ly. Ther. 6 to 22 above zero. A little snow fell. I walked as far as Rotherwood with Agnes before dinner. Wrote to Alexander & Stark enclosing first of exchange of bill for $561.86. Rec’d letters from Mrs Gray & Susie. I drove Minnie to Sutton in the afternoon & brought back English mail. Called on Mrs. James & Mrs. William Barnard. Willie drove Aunt Kitty to James Anderson’s dancing party. THURSDAY 11 Snowing mostly all day. Wind S.W. to North. Ther. 22 to 26 above zero. Dr. Hillary & Roderick called during the forenoon. They stayed to dinner and the Doctor gave us a specimen of his power on the violin. Willie drove Agnes to Ainslie Hill. I walked as far as Rotherwood before tea.
